PT. Pelindung Alam Nusantara

Introduction

Founded in 2022, PT. Pelindung Alam Nusantara cements the professional skills and experience of a group of individuals who are focused on conservation at scale through carbon development opportunities and investment. Our partnership will deliver long term conservation outcomes and community development, whilst controlling the degradation of nature and making a lasting impact in Indonesia.

OUR GOALS

At Pelindung Alam Nusantara (PAN), our work is grounded in strong management control to ensure every project delivers measurable, lasting conservation impact.

At the heart of this work is a drive by all the stakeholders at PAN to impact wildlife conservation and therefore begin critically needed rewilding of Indonesia’s forests - something that has never been achieved at scale before.

Every one of our projects will include rescue, rehabilitation and release centers for endemic species. We focus on carbon initiatives that not only protect landscapes but also generate permanent outcomes for all stakeholders—from local communities and ecosystems to investors and the planet at large.

Our commitment is to scale solutions that restore, protect, and sustain nature in the long term.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe in a future where climate change can be slowly but surely reversed, and where Indonesia’s tropical forests continue to thrive as one of the top three carbon sinks in the world.

Our work is driven by the urgency to halt biodiversity loss, prevent species extinction, and champion solutions that enable both climate mitigation and adaptation.

At the core of our philosophy is the belief that humanity can—and must—return to living in balance with nature.

"2030" AMBITIONS

By 2030, PAN aims to:

  • Manage over 200,000+ hectares of forest and mangrove ecosystems
  • Acquire 100,000–200,000 hectares of forestry, mangrove, and marine protected areas
  • Be recognized as the highest-quality nature-based solutions company in Southeast Asia and Africa
  • Establish a subsidiary or strategic partnership in Africa
  • Lead the reintroduction of high-value species, including orangutans, forest elephants, tapirs, primates and birds

Our Commitments

TO CLIMATE, COMMUNITY, AND BIODIVERSITY

PAN is committed to achieving full Climate, Community and Biodiversity (CCB) certification to ensure that our projects:

  • Have full and effective participation of all stakeholders;
  • Recognize and respect customary and statutory rights;
  • Obtain free, prior, and informed consent;
  • Identify and maintain high conservation values

Not only will this guarantee that our projects attain the highest quality of climate, community and biodiversity performance, but also we achieve the maximum returns based on the quality and security of the project co-benefits.

TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

PAN is committed to ensuring its projects are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. All our projects will have clearly defined sustainable development objectives, which will be monitored and reported along with the project emissions reductions. We will ensure that our projects will directly reduce poverty and other deprivations and improve health and education - especially the education of young women, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our forests.

A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.” - Franklin D. Roosevelt
